The Ahi appetizer seems to be pre-prepared (the plate is refrigerator cold) but is still outstanding. Every meal my wife and I have there is always very good. The service, as the author mentioned, may not be outstanding but is always "good". They seem to staff the place with locals (often high school girls) which is a great way to keep the place rooted in the community. As far as BYOB is concerned, I've never been charged a corking fee for beer. I once brought a growler of DFH 90 minute that drew odd glances but not a fee for what it's worth.
